JC Flake's Obituary
Dr. JC Flake 96 of Dunedin Florida passed away on August 30, 2010. JCmoved here from Rockville, Maryland, and spent his last 10 years at Mease Manor in Dunedin, FL. Dr. Flake, a native of Texas, received his BS Degree from the University of Tennessee and a MS degree at Purdue University. Following receipt of his Ph.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1940, Flake joined the staff of the Evaporated Milk Association where he was Director of Sanitary Standards for EMA and was later named Executive Vice President of the association. In addition to his direct contributions to the Evaporated Milk Association and American Dairy Products Institute, Dr. Flake served as a Commissioned Officer in the US Public Health Service; Secretary-Treasurer of the National Mastitis Council; Chairman of the 3-A Sanitary Standards Committees during his 50 years of service.He was a member of the Church of Christ.Dr. Flake was preceded in death by his wife, Susan.He is survived by his brother Fred (June) of Palm Harbor, Fl; nephew, Joe (Jean) and very good friend, Killian O'Donnell.Memorial contributions may be made to the Suncoast Hospice, 2675 Tampa Road, Palm Harbor, FL. 34684. www.mossfeasterdunedin.comArrangements under the direction of Moss Feaster Funeral Home, Dunedin, FL.
