I was, and am, still in shock seeing Jean had passed. I met her when our neighborhood was fighting the proposed zip line in Largo. We became very close friends and we spent so many hours together outside in her backyard (when the mosquitos would allow) drinking coffee, smoking and laughing, while sharing our similar strange ways with the creatures that wandered thorugh our paths. Like why she had her husband's old baseball hat hanging outside because she knew the birds would nest in it each year, and that made perfect sense to me.
We would discuss everything in life it seemed and it would almost always end up in laughter as we had to carry whatever topic it was to some ridiculous extreme. We would start chatting early afternoon most times, then look up and realize time had flown by and it would be midnight or later.
Words cannot really describe...so I will not try...
She was so easy and warm and enjoyable to be around, I truly loved her and am so very, very sorry I didn't make time to see her at her new home. She had the courage to fight for what she believed in, always talked about her family and friends, always cared for and loved her husband James and shared herself so genuinely and allowed me to do the same. I am honored to have gotten to know her, honored she called me friend, I will miss her terribly but will keep her laughter in my heart...until we meet again.
I love you Jean and you will be so, so missed,
