Jean H Perriman's Obituary
Heaven has gained another angel with the peaceful passing of Jean H. Perriman on April 4, 2016.
Jean Helen Perriman was born in Evanston, Illinois on September 9, 1931, the only beloved child born to Edmond and Helen Hebel. She graduated from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1949 and Dennison College in 1953. She is also a graduate from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston, Mass. Following her education she married her first husband, Dr. Richard Chamberlin. She devoted the next several years to starting her family and raising her four children first in Waterville, Maine and then Clearwater, Florida. As a single mother with four children she moved to Clearwater to be close to her parents. Jean quickly became engaged in the community through variety service organizations including Skycrest United Methodists Church, Scouting, PTA, and P.E.O. Often taking on leadership roles with local and state chapters. In 1972 Jean married William “Bill” D. Perriman. They enjoyed a wonderful life together, blending two families. Jean and Bill spent time on church retreats, participated in camping, domino’s and dinner groups, and were on bowling leagues. They particularly enjoyed traveling the country in their fifth wheeler. Their theme song was “On the Road Again”. Jean and Bill’s greatest love was their family. This was evident by creating regular family reunions that brought together multiple generations, allowing the family to stay connected.
Those who came into contact with Jean quickly found a devoted friend; she listened and showed genuine interest in those she befriended. Jean never forgot a birthday, was always available and willing to lend a hand. Jean was a relationship builder and leaves behind many groups of friends.
Jean Perriman is survived by her husband, Bill; her four children, Paul Chamberlin and his wife Beth of Thomaston, ME, David Chamberlin and his wife MaryJane of Tampa, FL, Susan Waddell and her husband David of Nolesville, TN, and Richard Chamberlin, Jr. of Townsend, GA. Also survived by her stepchildren, Brenda Chandler and her husband Mark of Independence, Ky., Scott Perriman and his wife Jennifer of Taylor Mill, Ky., and Doug Perriman and his wife Rae Lynn of Elsmere, Ky. Jean was a proud and devoted “Beema” to 17 grandchildren starting with Patrick and Mark and his wife Geneva Chamberlin; Logan and Devin Chamberlin; Tyler and his wife Hayley, Dylan and Carson Waddell; Zachariah, London and Dayton Chamberlin; Jennifer and Jeff Perriman; Alyson, Amanda, and Jake Perriman; William and Kaeli Perriman. She also is survived by her great-grand children, Ava Ruth, Ella Jean, Vincent, Haleigh, Austin, Ethan, Trevor, and Keegan.
Despite her age Jean remained “with it” and relevant by sending texts, posting on FaceBook and talking on her iPhone. She was also a local sports fan, particularly the Tampa Bay Rays. But Jean’s greatest joy was making chocolate chip cookies for her family and friends!
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made either to SkyCrest United Methodist Religious Community Service (RCS) fund 2045 Drew St, Clearwater, FL 33765 and/or the Alzheimer’s Association.
