Jennie Carmella Tibbetts' Obituary
Jennie “Joan" Carmella Tibbetts (Napolitano) of Mineola, New York, passed away on April 13, 2024, in Clearwater, Florida, at the age of 89. She was known for her gift of hospitality, her unwavering love for her husband Ernie, her children, grandchildren, family, and friends, and her ability to make strangers feel like family. Her warm smile could light up any room.
Jennie had a long and fulfilling career in hospitality, restaurant management, customer service, and retail management. Some of her favorite roles included managing a restaurant in Cocoa Beach, overseeing a candy store in the mall, managing a liquor store, and her customer service work at Merritt Square mall, where she retired in 2015.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Merritt Island, Florida, and North Bay Community Church in Clearwater. Jennie's hobbies included hosting parties, cooking, shopping, thrifting, and garage sales. She had a zest for life and always found joy in any situation.
Jennie is survived by her two brothers, Neil and Anthony, her sister Roberta, her best friend and "sister" Judy, her loving children, and their spouses: Ernie and Cindy, Laura and Matt, Christine and Christopher, Jim and April, and Jennifer and Matt, along with 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her beloved dachshund Elvis.
A Memorial Service for Jennie Tibbetts will be held on Friday, May 10th, at 1 PM at North Bay Community Church in Clearwater, Florida. The service will also be broadcast live via the church's website. Additionally, a "Celebration of Life" event will take place at the VFW on Merritt Island on July 13th from 12-4. More details will be provided at a later date.
Jennie's legacy of love, kindness, and joy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
