Joan C. Brock's Obituary
Joan C. Brock, 80, of Clearwater, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 24th, 2021. Born in Hastings, Nebraska, Joan moved to the Tampa Bay area from Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1963.
Joan worked in the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections office for 28 years retiring as the Deputy Elections Supervisor. Always active in local politics, she was past president of the Dunedin Women's Republican Club and former Ivory Club secretary. Recently, she served as Co-chair of the Pinellas GOP History Committee which authored a book commemorating the One-Hundred Year Anniversary of the Pinellas Republican Party. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Trinity, Florida.
Grandma / "Grammy" never missed an opportunity to attend one of her grandchildren’s ballgames or dance recitals. She was an avid sports fan and was always watching a game involving her beloved Tampa Bay sports teams or the Florida Gators.
She is survived by her daughters Kimberly Cass (Steven) and Tammy Cartiglia (John) and her three grandchildren, Mallory (Pip), Luke and Noah Cartiglia and step-grandchildren, Johnny, Alyessa and Jade Cartiglia. A service will be held at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Rd., Clearwater on Friday, July 9 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to the Morton Plant Mease Healthcare Foundation designated to the Planters Nursing Scholarship Fund or Moffitt Pinellas Partners both which she actively supported.
