Joan Winifred ( Koppelo) Brown
October 20, 1933 – October 14, 2025
Joan Winifred Brown, 91, passed away October 14, 2025, at home in Dunedin, Florida.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Ron of 63 years, her parents Bernard and Lydia Koppelo; and brothers Bernard and Duane.
A graduate of Farmington High School, Michigan, Joan worked as a court clerk , Sears Salesperson , Police Dispatcher. Her retirement from Oakland County in 1993 left her free to visit her sons Timothy (Cheryl) and Thomas (Linda) grandchildren Andrew, John and Lydia and several nieces and nephews.
Joan was kind towards everyone she met. She loved life, relatives and many good friends. She shared the gifts of living life’s joys to its fullest especially when her kids were young with camping adventures in Dad’s Army tent ( w/ a crib in it ) at various Michigan State Parks - the 10’ aluminum boat lasted decades and Ron fiber-glassed the bottom after numerous times dragging it between favorite lakes.
The Tigers and Tampa Bay Rays were favorites and when they both played in Tampa or Detroit her team never lost a game!
Lawrence Welk was a Saturday night MUST (not online) right up to her passing.
