Joan Z. Huppman's Obituary
Joan Frances Zajac Huppman, age 85, passed peacefully on January 26, 2018. Her husband Joseph passed in May of 2016. Joan is survived by two daughters, Ann Marie (husband Rick) and Patricia, and three sons, Joseph (wife Virginia), John (wife Ellen), and Carl (wife Christina) and a brother, Carl Zajac. She has 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Joan will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, doting “Grammy” and caring friend. She is widely known for her culinary expertise. In addition to cooking, Joan enjoyed knitting, boating, fishing, bowling, shuffleboard, playing cards and visits from her family.
Born in Syracuse, NY, Joan was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and worked at the Crouse Hinds and Sun Oil Companies. For many years, Joan and Joe were “snowbirds” spending summers in their home on the St. Lawrence River near Alexandria Bay NY, and winters in Clearwater FL at the Regency Heights park. She most recently lived under the gentle and loving care of her daughter, Patricia, in New Port Richey.
Joan was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Church in Syracuse, where she was active in the choir and scouting activities. She was most recently a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes in Dunedin FL.
Joan Huppman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, will be forever missed and cherished by the many lives she touched.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 30 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 750 San Salvador Drive, Dunedin FL.
