Joan Doris Riddle's Obituary
On August 11th, 2022, Joan Doris Riddle passed away at the age of 90. She was born in Chicago, IL on October 14th, 1931.
She is survived by 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, CA in 1949. She received her Associates in Arts at St. Petersburg Junior College in Clearwater, Florida in 1975.
She was proud to be a decedent of President Taft. Her interest in politics lead her to volunteer as a campaign worker to make her contribution. While raising her 5 children, she worked as a secretary, sold real estate, owned a small publishing business, and was a medical transcriptionist. After retiring she worked at the Clearwater Public Library, inspired by her love of books and history. Genealogy became her pastime after she stopped working. She enjoyed nature, sailing, and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. She also enjoyed bird watching and working in her yard of the home she lived in for 45 years in Clearwater, Florida. In her later years, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her greatgrandchildren who called her Gigi.
Mothers plant the seeds of love that help us bloom forever. She was much loved and will be missed but never forgotten.
