Joan Stordy's Obituary
Joan Stordy, 91, of Brooksville formerly of Clearwater, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Tampa General Hospital – Brooksville. Joan was born January 6, 1933, in Boston, MA to John A. and Elizabeth (McGuiggan) McKinnon, who have preceded her in death.
Joan spent all of her childhood summers traveling back and forth to Prince Edward Island with her mother. This is where she met her husband Raymond. Once retired she again spent summers traveling to PEI to spend time with her family and friends.
Joan enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, gardening, and entertaining; but her true devotion was to her faith and church. Active at St Catherine of Siena Church; Joan served as a Eucharistic Minister and participated in their bible study.
Besides her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Raymond and a brother, John A. McKinnon Jr. Joan leaves behind a legacy of love with her 5 children, Paul (Kate) Stordy, David (Nannette) Stordy, Carol (Steve) Meighan, Joanne Bargoot, Raymond D. (Lacey) Stordy; a sister-in-law Ann McKinnon; sister-in-law Imelda Rooney; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00AM, Monday, January 6, 2025 (Joan’s birthday) at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1955 S. Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL 33764.
