Joan M. Works' Obituary
Joan M. Works, 88, was born on February 2, 1933 in Chicago Illinois to Joseph and Blanche Kakacek, along with her siblings Joseph Jr. and Virginia Anderson. She moved to Dunedin, Florida from Riverside, Illinois, in July of 1976 and was married to the late, Steve Works. Their children are Eileen and Robert “Pete” Long, and Keith and Tracey Works. She had five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Joan, worked as a secretary for the department of Children and families. She also volunteered at Curtis Elementary for nine years in the Kindergarten class and she volunteered at Mease Dunedin Hospital for more than ten years. She loved being a grandma and spending quality time with her family. She also loved traveling with Eileen and her family. Joan loved to shop and get great deals at sales, which is a hobby she shared with her daughter, as well. Words cannot begin to express how much she will be missed. Contributions can be made to SPCA and the Wounded Warriors foundation.
