John Eric Bristol's Obituary
BRISTOL, John Eric
60, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 5, 2015. He was born in Monterey Bay, CA. While attending college at the University of California, John earned a degree in nursing. He was a thespian and enjoyed drama and the performing arts, especially Shakespeare. He moved from California to Kelsey, Michigan. While in Michigan he became ordained as a Russian Orthodox Deacon. In the late 1970’s, John moved to Bradenton, Florida where he worked in adolescent psychiatric nursing. He later moved to West Palm Beach, FL to continue work in private duty nursing. While living in West Palm Beach during the early 80’s, John met Christopher Bailey. Chris was living in North Carolina at the time, but later moved to Florida to be with John to begin a life together that spanned for over 34 years. In the mid 80’s John was an accountant for Marriott, he later moved to Tarpon Springs in 1992 and began working at Moss Feaster’s flower shop at Sylvan Abbey. He also served as a staff associate at Serenity Gardens Funeral Home before retiring in 2000.
John enjoyed visiting amusement parks and camping, but the one thing he cherished the most were the “Children” he and Chris cared for: Soren, Bandit, Edward, Simon, Garfunkel, Baby, Spanky, Katherine, Victoria, Austin, Ebony, Jasmine, Winkie, Siam, Pythias, Damon, Bosley, Soren One, Alexander and his little friend I never knew, “Lady.”
John is survived by his companion of 34 years, Chris Bailey; his kids, Soren and Bandit; and many friends. We Love You!
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in John's memory to Chris Bailey.
