John W Douglas' Obituary
John Willard Douglas, 83, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away on May 6, 2026. Born in Queens, New York, John later moved to Florida in 1973 from Hicksville, New York.
John dedicated much of his career as a Building Maintenance Supervisor, working for GTE/Verizon until his retirement at the age of 62. In addition to his professional work, John was a deeply valued part of the community at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, where he served as a funeral associate for over 16 years. In that role, he compassionately assisted with funerals, drove the hearse, handled building maintenance, and supported countless families during difficult times. He truly embodied service and care in every aspect of his work. John was loved by all who worked alongside him and will be dearly missed by his Moss Feaster family.
He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Douglas; his mother, Mae Duffy; and his sister, Barbara Bagwell.
John is survived by his brother, Robert Douglas; his daughters, Darlene Johnson (Eric) and Dorene Blake (David); and his grandchildren, Nicholas Johnson, Trent (Joana) Duttry, and Brianna Carter (Blaine). He also leaves behind extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, Dunedin Chapel. Private graveside services will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearwater.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
