My heart goes out to the family for the loss of their loved one John Huckno. He was a sweetheart. He would always drive around the neighnorhood and stop by to say hello and chat while sitting in his truck. Next thing it would be an hour had gone by. I enjoyed the chats. He definitely missed his wife Connie. God bless them both they are together again. Love and prayers to the family. God bless. So many memories from the neighborhood.
John and I were very good friends and shared a lot of common things together. We were both Polish, both Veterans. We enjoyed the same types of food and every Monday-Saturday at 7:30 we both would be watching Jeopardy.
I will miss him very much............

I remember the first time I met Big John over 42 years ago. I had just started working at Highpoint service center in the food service shop. John worked in the AC shop. He came over and introduced himself to me and made me feel welcomed. I was impressed with him and his cowboy boots. That started off a life long friendship. We took many a great motorcycle rides together. I always looked forward to our Friday get togethers for lunch or as we called them the Romeo club . Short for [ Retired old men eating out ]. His favorite place to eat was Sonny's BBQ in Largo. He loved their baby back ribs. He was always a hoot because he had no filter. We never knew what he might say. He would tell you exactly what he was thinking. Nothing fake about John and I had great respect for him because of that. He Loved his family and his country. I am glad that

It's been many years since I've seen the "Florida" Huckno family, but I do have fond memories of them. Especially Uncle John... he gave me a stuffed turtle, when I was little, so I could sit on it and see out of the windshield of our pick up truck. I named the turtle John. And all these years later, I still have that turtle.
As I was reading the obituary, I realized that Lance & I got married on Uncle John's 50th birthday and he passed away on my 53rd birthday. Rest in peace, Uncle John

He was my little brother who I took care of. He became a man in the United States Marine Corp and then Connie took over with the help of the children and grandchildren. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Rays, and NASCAR filled his life but we still talked three or four times a week and told each other how much it meant to be brothers. I thanked him last week on Memorial Day for his service to our country. He was my little brother and I carried him but he wasn’t heavy. May You Rest In Peace Brother.
