John C. Ishman's Obituary
John C. Ishman of Clearwater, Florida (formally of Saginaw, MI) passed away peacefully at home August 9, 2021 at age 85.
Born December 12, 1935 in Windber, PA to Irvin Ishman and Alice (Miller) Ishman.
Beloved husband of Rita (Stopyak) Ishman.
John was a Plant Operator for Saginaw Waste Water Treatment Plant for many years.
John and Rita married October 21, 1995 relocating to Clearwater in 1998.
They went on many cruises together and enjoyed their visits “home” to Michigan to be with family and friends.
John continued to ride his motorcycle until age 75 and rode the famously difficult “Tail of the Dragon” in NC.
John was an avid Ham radio operator, featured in the Saginaw News for getting messages to and from the US Troops in the Persian Gulf in January 1991.
John’s “Little Buddy”, a Chocolate Chihuahua named Hans was always by his side while watching TV or napping. John and Hans were often seen on the golf cart at some of Clearwater’s finer establishments (Taco Bell, the Original Hooter’s, Dunkin' Donuts, and Pete & Shorty’s Tavern).
John was quick witted and always had a humorous comment for the situation at hand.
John leaves behind many friends and family but wanted to note his love for his daughter, Dawn and “adopted” daughter Amii.
John will be laid to rest at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale, MI.
He will be sorely missed.
