Sending Hugs to Aunt Joyce and Beth. So sorry about Uncle Johns passing. Praying for you both during this time of sadness and transition. What a gift it was that the Good Lord gave him extra years of life after previous medical problems. A true miracle every time I think of it! He will be missed.

John was a mentor, teacher, and great friend of ours while working at GE in Carroll. Honest and fair truly describe him. If we could also be the same. Our sympathy to the whole family.

I so well remember John and his athletic abilities while in high school. He was so much fun to watch. I am sure that as a husband, father and grandfather he has left many special gifts of love and guidance. Please know our thoughts are with you. Duane and Sharon (Dykema) Habben.

When I was about 10, I and my dad, Cliff, were at the Whiteside County Fair. Boyd, John's dad, took a bent nail from his pocket and told me to take it because he needed it later. My dad said he was playing a joke on me and told me to save it. The next fair, a year later, we saw Boyd and I asked him if he needed the nail yet. He remembered from the year earlier and got a big kick out of it. Neal Alldrit
