John J. Miles' Obituary
Miles, John J., 88, of Clearwater passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. John was born on April 21, 1928 in Mount Rainier, MD. He joined the US Navy serving on the USS Prairie and was honorably discharged in 1947. After leaving the Navy, John attended the University of Maryland graduating in 1951 with a degree in Business. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the food industry before retiring in 1985 having worked for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company as the Senior Executive Vice President of Operations and ending his career as the CEO and President of A&P Family Mart. John was a longtime member of the Belleair Country Club where he loved to golf. He was an expert crossword puzzle enthusiast and an avid reader. John is survived by his loving wife, Blanche; three daughters, Victoria (James) Rattigan, Lee (Andrew) Domarasky, Amanda (Dave) Guinane and a son, Jay Miles; a sister, Katherine (Robert) Renner; grandchildren; Carol (Darren) Clauws, , Grace Guinane, Sunshine (Matthew) Mechtenberg, Justin (Lisa) Weinrich, Cezanne Fink and Anna McClure; Great Grandchildren; Paige Clauws, Maeve Mechtenberg, Wilhelmina and Winston Weinrich and Ragan and Brea McClure. He was predeceased by his daughter, Austine Fink.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM, Monday, March 6, 2017 at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater, FL.
