John Peter Mitros
May 27, 1960 – January 25, 2022
John Peter Mitros passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on January 25th 2022 while residing in his new hometown of Dunedin, Florida. A former resident of New Jersey, John enjoyed the laid back lifestyle of living in a beach community in both states, with his family. It was at Seton Hall University where John met his wife back in 1979 and made life long friends. John was a banking professional who obtained his Bachelors of Science from Seton Hall University in Finance and Marketing. He loved all kinds of music from rock to classical and always enjoyed listening and going to live shows. John loved being outdoors in the sunshine playing tennis, fishing and golfing. Cooking was another passion and loved preparing fun get togethers for his wife, family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Catherine Handrino Mitros and Peter Mitros. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Knipe Mitros; his son Nicholas Peter Mitros; his daughter-in-law Daryl Sobota Mitros and was like a big brother to Ammie Knipe Blumeling and John Christopher Knipe.
John adored his rescue pups, Maizie and Emma and enjoyed walking them on the beach. The family asks in lieu of flowers to please make donations in John’s name to North Shore Animal League of America at http://animalleague.org.
