John E. Pierce, age 81, of Zephyrhills, Florida passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at West Brooke Manor in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was born October 14, 1939 in Aurora, Illinois to Joseph M. Pierce and Rose M. Pierce. John served in the air force from 1959 to 1963. He loved fishing and working on fixing electronic devices. His passion for math was noted when he created a book for electronics. John loved to read his Batman comic books and watch Deep Space Nine on TV. He loved to photograph butterflies and flowers from different parts of the world. He worked at Raytheon for 13 years and retired at the age of 73. John was a quiet man and was loved by many and will be missed. John is survived by his wife Nancy Welch-Pierce. He has three children, John D. Pierce of Elgin, Illinois; Joseph (Kathrine) Pierce of Aurora, Illinois and James A. (Kerrie) Pierce of Montgomery, Illinois; three grandchildren: Ben (Alissa) Pierce, Amy (Andrew) Olinger and Lily Pierce; three great-grandchildren: Owen, Maeve and Robert Pierce. He is preceded in death by his first wife Crispina P. Pierce and parents: Joseph M. Pierce and Rose M. Pierce.
