John Carmen Trosie's Obituary
John Trosie of Dunedin Florida was called home to the lord on Sunday May 25, 2014 with his loving children by his side. Born in 1924, to Florence and William Trosie, John graduated New Rochelle High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army. During World War II he served with the 31st Infantry Divison, making three amphibious landings in New Guinea and the Phillippines. John remained with his unit dispite the ravages of Malaria. Upon his discharge from the Army in January 1946, he returned home to start a new life. He married his high school sweet heart,Mary Ellen Jones. He also graduated New York University. John and Mary shared a beautiful and long life together. He is survived by his two children, daughter, Ellen Huberty and husband Robert, of Radnor, Pa.; son, John and Andrea Trosie of Wappinger Falls, New York. He is survived by his most cherished grandchildren, Brian, Adam, Robert, Brianne and Jenna. He also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Finn, Jack and Will.The love of his life, Mary predeceased him after sixty years of marriage in 2007. John and Mary shared life's journey together. After graduating from NYU,John went to work for Robert Martin Company of Elmsford, NY, where he retired as Vice-President in 1989.John and Mary retired and moved from Hartsdale, N.Y. to Dunedin, Florida, where they lived on the fifth hole of the golf course where John played golf at least three times a week and lived a dream retirement.
