Joe was more than a Marine.
He was a Recon Marine.
An elite soldier and incredibly humble man who gladly served this great country in the jungles of Vietnam and Laos.
Few of us could ever imagine the things he witnessed and the things he had to do to survive that war...at the tender age of just 19. "We had to hold our fingers over the top of our canteens as we sank them into any stream or water that we could find in the jungle... to keep the leeches out." Little did any of us know that he would bring death home.
He truly loved his boys and granddaughters beyond compare.
I am....we ALL ARE... forever in his debt for our freedoms.
He will always be my HERO and I will forever miss his smile and his laughter. I can hear it now....
God bless you, Joe.
