Joseph F. Polomski's Obituary
Joseph Polomski ,89, of Tampa, Florida joined his wife of 50 years, Florence, his mother and father, Veronica and Florian Polomski, his two brothers, Frank and Max, and his sister, Bouldie in heaven on March 7, 2011.Born in Chester, PA Joe began his professional career at the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Eddystone, PA. A hard working, and dedicated individual, Joe swiftly moved up the ranks to management and specialized in the operation of hydraulic forging presses. Joe also worked at Balt Anchor in Bordentown, NJ, and retired from Luria Brothers in Coatesville, PA in 1983 where he was the plant superintendent.Joseph bravely served his country as an Army Sergeant in the 185th Engineer Combat Battalion in the European Theatre of Operations during World War II. He carried the title of Construction Foreman. Through courage and bravery, Joe received the following decorations and citations: World War II Victory Ribbon, Army Occupation Medal (Italy), European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon and a Good Conduct Medal.Joseph is survived by his three children, Joanne (Harry) Day, Martin (Carolyn) Polomski, and Joseph (Rosemary) Polomski ; his sister Julia Polomski; and his three grandchildren, Michael (Tracy) Polomski, Harah Day and Brian (Kristine) Day.Joseph was a devout Catholic. His religion, Polish heritage, and family were at the center of his life. He was loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed.To celebrate Joseph's life, friends may visit with the family from 9–9:30 am on Friday, March 11th at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Dunedin, followed by 10 am Mass at St. Michael's. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Neighborly Care Network, 13945 Evergreen Ave, Clearwater, FL 33762 (Meals on Wheels)
