Joseph R. Santos' Obituary
On November 2, 2012 Joseph R Santos of Dunedin, FL passed away suddenly in Miami. Joe was an amazing father, grandfather, brother and son. His easy smile and laugh were infectious and his caring and support for his friends and family were unrelenting. Joe was an icon in Rockland County, NY where he grew up and where he owned the "Red Rail", and as an avid music lover, he brought Rock 'n Roll and Blues legends to his stage. He moved to Dunedin in the early 80's with his family…he so loved its warm weather and beaches. He would ride his bike on the Pinellas Trail with his grandson Lunden and cherished the times they spent talking of baseball, and his precious Yankee's.He was the Director of Engineering at General Hotel & Restaurant Supply Corp of Miami Lakes, FL. He loved his work designing hospitality facilities and was recently awarded the Silver award from USGBC LEED for designing The Dome restaurant in Coral Gables which is the only green restaurant in the area. He was admired by his fellow co-workers, venders and clients.He is predeceased by his father Herman J. Santos and will be eternally loved and missed by his mother Gloria Santos of Airmont, NY; his children Keri Santos of Dunedin, FL and Joseph L Santos of Palm Harbor; his grandsons Lunden and Braxton of Dunedin; his brother James Santos and sister Jackie Palmer of Oregon; his forever friend, albeit ex-wife Laurie Santos of Palm Harbor and his extended family and friends throughout the country.Memorial Donations in Joseph's Memory can be made to the American Red Cross (New York/New Jersey Disaster Relief)Greater New York Region, 520 W. 49th Street, New York, New York 10019 or call 877-733-2767.
