SLEZAK, Joseph F.
88, died June 25, 2016 in Safety Harbor, FL. Born July 30, 1927 in Johnstown, PA, son of Joseph and Anna Harnichar Slezak. He graduated from Johnstown Catholic High School and served in the United States Navy. He worked his entire career as a Railroad Engineer for Conemaugh & Black Lick Railroad Co. in Johnstown. He was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 4604, VFW Post 155, and American Legion Post 294. Joe's passion was golf and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and the Penguins win the 2016 Stanley Cup. Predeceased by his parents and his loving wife Eileen Marie King Slezak, sisters Mildred Slezak Reynolds, and Mary Ann Slezak Yuraschek. Survived by brothers George Slezak, John Slezak, and sister Elizabeth Yefchak Cigich, daughter Christine Slezak Alt and companion Patrick McDonough, son Dennis Slezak and wife Susan Pierson Slezak, grandchildren Jennifer Alt Lang, Michael Alt, Allison Slezak, and Mark Slezak, and great grandchildren James Lang and Wade Lang, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Services to be held at 1:00 pm on July 23, 2016 at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, PA.
