Joyce Sykes Rill's Obituary
Joyce Sykes Rill, 81, of Palm Harbor, FL passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025. She was born July 31, 1944 in Freeport, New York to Vivian Williams and Gladys Loretta Langs, who have preceded her in death.
Joyce loved to do jigsaw puzzles, growing up she was an avid seamstress and used to make my dresses. She was an amazing cook and has a wonderful recipe collection and is famous for her rice pudding. Her true purpose was to always serve. If anyone needed something, she was there. At 50 she went to cosmetology school and got her license although she never worked in a salon. She loved animals and had a way of drawing animals to her. The meanest of dogs would be friendly to her. Joyce loved to clean as a hobby and always had an immaculate house. She would ask people to help them clean if needed. She had a flair for decorating and loved to decorate her spaces. I would frequently come home and find new furniture in my house. Joyce loved to thrift and had an eye for quality. She was independent and a force unto herself. She was always zipping around in her car running errands, visiting people, or helping someone in need. She was always dressed up in cute outfits with her hair and makeup done. People used to comment on her cute outfits.
Joyce is survived by two children, Joyce & Allan, and a stepdaughter, Misty. She has four wonderful grandchildren; Daynie, Ryan, Olivia, and Teagan. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law; Leilani & Carl DePaolo as well as many other family members spread out across the U.S.
