She was born in Lansing Michigan in 1938 and moved to Florida in September 1954 with her family. She graduated from Boca Ciega High School in 1956. A few months later she met Gerhard and after corresponding with him for the next two years, they were married on October 4th, 1958 and moved to Orange, Texas where Gary was stationed in the Navy.
