June Peckham Sander's Obituary
June Raye “Mimi” Peckham Sander, 75, was met by her guardian angel and taken home to the Lord on August 26th, 2025, at the HCA Florida Hospital in Largo, Florida. June was born on February 2nd, 1950, in St. Petersburg, Florida, the daughter of the late Richard Harold Peckham and Lois Irene Bishop Peckham.
June was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience, finding peace after many years of battling a multitude of debilitating illnesses; her spirit was never broken, and she remained fierce to the end, always speaking her mind. Her courage is a testament and a cherished legacy for us all.
June enjoyed sharing her time and skills helping those less fortunate. She was proud to volunteer at multiple fellowships, including the Lighthouse Church, Dream Center, food pantries, and church thrift stores, bringing comfort to those within the community. June served the Lord honorably.
June never met a stranger. Self-sacrificing and humble; those she knew were embraced as though they were her own family.
We find comfort in knowing she is now resting, free from the pain that burdened her for so long. Her struggle has ended, and she is finally at peace. We will all remember her beautiful smile, love of family, and kind spirit. She lived her life with grace and dignity, and her love for her family never wavered.
June is survived by her beloved husband, Vern Sander; daughters, Brenda (Andrew) Riehle and Kelly Lovell; grandchildren, Jaime (David) Shirely, Michael (Liane) Carr, Matthew (Allison) Carr, Laura (Aaron) Minix, Joseph Shelton, Sara Vance, Vivian Rogers; 15 great grandchildren; her sole surviving sibling Nancy (William) Freeman; nieces and countless friends.
In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by brothers Ralph (Lorene) Peckham and Richard (Paulette) Peckham.
