Justin Donald Layton's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Justin Layton, a beloved father, husband, brother, son, uncle, and friend. Born on August 21, 1983, in Schenectady, New York, Justin brought joy and laughter to all who knew him with his quick wit, infectious humor, and caring nature his whole life. He had a rare gift—the ability to make people laugh, no matter the situation. His humor was infectious, his wit sharp, and his laughter contagious. Whether he was telling a joke or offering a clever remark, you couldn’t help but smile when you were around him.
But beyond the laughter, Justin was a man of deep love and commitment. He was an incredible father to his son Alexander. The bond they shared was something truly special. He was always there for Alexander, guiding him with love, patience, and, of course, a sense of humor that made even the toughest moments easier. And to Debra, his beloved wife, Justin was a rock. Their love was a partnership built on mutual respect, shared laughter, and an unwavering devotion to each other. The way he cared for Debra, especially during the difficult times, showed the depth of his character. He was a true partner, always putting his family first, even when his own struggles became overwhelming. Cancer may have taken him from us, but it never took away his spirit. Even in the face of this devastating illness, he remained strong, courageous, and—true to form—kept his sense of humor until the very end. He reminded us that life is too short to be taken too seriously, and that laughter is sometimes the best medicine.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Debra, his cherished son Alexander, his faithful dog Apollo, his father Donald Layton, his loving sister and brother-in-law; Angela and Gerard Amedio, his mother-in-law and father-in-law; Rose and Michael Ciccarone, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Steven and Klairen Bohr, his niece Seraphina Bohr, and many friends and family who loved him dearly. Justin's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be missed more than words can express.
