Kappy Koch
Katherine Marshall Koch passed away on June 11, 2024. She was 96 years old.
Kappy was born to Judge Alfred P. and Jessie Chesnut Marshall on February 8, 1928. She was believed to be the oldest living person born at Morton Plant Hospital.
Kappy was married to Dr. Robert M. Koch, who predeceased her. They were sweethearts from the 7th grade and were married at Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church in 1950.
She and Bobby were high school sweethearts – she was a cheerleader, and he was the quarterback and captain of the Clearwater High Tornadoes football team.
Kappy graduated with a degree in Physical Education from the University of North Carolina. She was a Phys Ed school teacher for brief periods of time.
She was a founding member of Casado Club, a member of the Clearwater Junior League, a member of the Belleair Country Club, and volunteered her time at various local charities.
Kappy is survived by 3 children: Karl (Tara) of Tampa, Louise (Craig) of Hudson, Ky (Susan) of Clearwater; 7 grandchildren, Katie, Jack, Susan, Gayle, Courtney, Tanner and Jake and 1 great-grandchild.
She will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mom and great-grandmother. Her warm smile, caring personality and love of the Florida Gators will forever be remembered and will be included in her legacy.
