Kathleen Ann Marek's Obituary
Kathleen Ann Marek, lovingly known as Kathee, passed away on December 2, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida, at the age of 75. Born on December 13, 1949 and raised in Carteret, New Jersey, Kathee grew up surrounded by the deep family roots and values that shaped her bright, generous spirit.
Kathee was the beloved daughter of the late John and Ann Marek, and the cherished sister of Alan Marek (Denise Marek), Carl Marek (Joe Lemaszewski), and John Marek (Donna Marek). She was a devoted and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, who adored her beyond measure. Among those she held closest to her heart were Allyson and Kennedy Heath (and their son, Brady); Lauren and Dave Schwartz (and their children, Derek and Kendall); Janine Marek (and her son, Jack); and Dana and Tom Arena. To Kathee, family was everything.
Kathee’s career took her into the heart of New York City’s fashion industry, where she worked with Gitano during the vibrant era of NYC fashion. She later transitioned to a role at Campbell’s, bringing her trademark determination, style, and grace into each chapter of her professional life. She worked in New York City during the events of 9/11—a moment that deeply shaped her. From that day on, she carried an unwavering pride for her country. Kathee loved America fiercely and never hesitated to express that love.
Known for her vivacious personality, Kathee lit up every room she entered. She lived with elegance and flair, always dressed impeccably and always ready with a story—whether about a place she’d traveled to, a memory she cherished, or an amusing moment that left everyone laughing. She had a gift for making others feel welcomed, valued, and seen.
Kathee’s heart was fullest when she was with her family, especially her grand nieces and nephews—Kendall, Derek, Jack, and Brady—who brought her endless joy. She loved the ocean and found peace in the rhythm of the waves, often enjoying a cocktail by the beach as she took in the beauty of her adopted home state of Florida. Whether celebrating the holidays, exploring new places, or simply spending time with her loved ones, Kathee embraced life with enthusiasm and warmth.
Her generosity, sophistication, humor, and boundless love leave a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Dunedin, Florida, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Kathee’s remarkable life beginning at 3:30 PM.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
