Kathleen and I were classmates from 1950 to graduation in 1954.Near the end of our Junior year the Principal called us into his office and announced that we had identical scores or credits, at the head of our class. It was then that we became friends. In the end you know she beat me,
Both of us were interested in making nursing our career, and headed south. Me to a hospital 3 year diploma education at Lutheran deaconess with classes at Augsburg. She went to St Olaf in Northfield and earned her BSN. I visited her one weekend at St Olaf and we communicated as friends., by mail.
While she and John lived in Mpls, my husband and I visited them at their apartment. We continued communication but with the coming of families and our careers the letters got to be only at Christmas time. It was always a joy to read of you kids as you matured and then hear of the Grand children. Class reunions were special because we could spend some time together.
Our last visit was when John brought her to my house in Ada, 75 miles from Bagley and the Tangjerd farm, and a whole afternoon was spent as if the years had not intervened.
Her love of Jesus, family, and nursing matched mine. Your Mom, Mother in law, or Grandmother was a special school mate, nurse, wife and mother. In spite of MS she carried on the best she could. Thanks to John's care she almost got to 83 years of age
Well done Kathleen! I'll see you in heaven.
In Christ,
