Kaye Don Rexroat's Obituary
Rexroat, Kaye Don 92, left this life peacefully at his Clearwater home on November 7th, 2025. Born in Ottawa, Illinois. He was a Korean War Veteran who served in the Air Force. He was stationed at Ellsworth AFB, Rapid City, South Dakota was a tail gunner on a B-29 and finished his military commitment as a corporal with the 7540th Air Police. His command had been invited for joint training at RAF base Lakenheath, England. This assignment changed his life when he met his soon to be wife Eva. They dated two weeks with a proposal for marriage. Upon his return to Ellsworth, Eva embarked on a new life crossing the Atlantic and leaving her home of Scotland. They were married in Ottawa and lived off base near Rapid City. Following his service commitment Kaye and Eva followed his parents to Florida where they started their new life. Kaye worked for the Pinellas County school board started mowing school properties and retired as a Maintenance Director for the school system. Kaye was an ardent vegetable Gardner, exceptional swimmer, fisherman with a love for the water and enjoyed socializing with his family and friends.
Besides his Parents Maynard and Alma Rexroat, Kaye is preceded by his wife Eva who passed away in 2012 after 59 years of marriage.
He is survived by his Children; Terry, Vicki, Scott, Joe, four Grandchildren, Adam, Julie, Amanda, Alex, Great Grandson Hunter and his brother Linn.
A celebration of life to be held December 13th 1:00 PM at Eagle Lake Park 1800 Keene Rd.
