Kenneth J. List's Obituary
On Saturday, December 15, 2018, Kenneth J. List, a loving father, grandfather, and faithful friend, passed away, at 63.
Ken was born on March 3, 1955 in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, to John and Mary (Docktor) List. He moved to Florida during the Summer of 1971, and started high school as a junior at Clearwater High School. Ken graduated in 1973. Later, married Lynda Collins, on November 25, 1988. Together they raised two children, Cory and Kelsey.
He became a Fantastic Sam's Franchise owner in 1984 . Together, Ken and Lynda owned and operated 14 Fantastic Sam's Salons. Currently, Ken owned three salons located in Kenneth City, South Pasadena, and St. Petersburg. More than just an owner, Ken made friends with every customer that walked through the door.
Ken never met a stranger. He was the most outgoing man you would ever meet who would give you the shirt off his back and more if he could. He was a sincere, friendly man with a heart of gold who enjoyed his neighbors, friends, and family.
Ken was an amazing father who was very involved with his children’s sports activities starting at Largo Little League, and all throughout high school at Clearwater Central Catholic. He bragged about his children everywhere he went and loved sharing photos and videos of his grandson.
Ken's favorite things to do were take care of his children, go to church, mow the yard and wash his cars. Ken always had the best looking lawn in the neighborhood and a driveway with the coolest vehicles. He was a season ticket holder of the Tampa Bay Rays and a parishioner at St. Catherine’s of Sienna, where he attended church regularly.
Ken always put others before himself. He was a caretaker and believed his reason for life was to serve and give to others.
Ken was predeceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, his brothers, Anthony Sr. and John. He is survived by his son, Cory, daughter, Kelsey, grandson, Jameson, brother, Charles, and sister, Sallie.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Catherine’s of Sienna Parish on Belcher Rd, in Clearwater, at 10 a.m, followed by a memorial celebration at 11:30 in the Parkview Room at the Largo Performing Arts Center in Largo Central Park.
