Kevin Paul Teismann's Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kevin Teismann, who peacefully left this world on January 13, 2025 after a long battle with esophageal cancer. Born on September 18, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to William and Regina Teismann, Kevin’s life was a testament to perseverance, intellect, faith, and love of his family.
From an early age, Kevin displayed a deep love of learning, sports and a determination to succeed. He graduated from McNicholas High School, earning a football scholarship to the University of Cincinnati, where he balanced the rigors of academics with the demands of playing offensive tackle. He sometimes recounted the day he was tasked with blocking “Mean” Joe Greene during a 1967 game against the University of North Texas—a moment that captured his tenacity and fearless spirit.
After earning his undergraduate degree, Kevin graduated from UC Law School. His sharp mind and dedication to justice led him to a clerkship with the Oregon State Supreme Court. In 1973, he moved to Seattle to work with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
There Kevin met and married the love of his life, Susan (née Tarabochia), in May 1974. Together, they built a life of love, faith, and partnership, raising their two children, Matthew and Eve, with the same values that defined their lives.
Kevin’s career flourished in the space and defense industries, where he served as General Counsel and senior management for contractors of NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense including Rocket Research, the Olin Corporation, Physics International, Primex Technologies and Tech Data.
Kevin’s love of knowledge was a defining trait. Whether delving into politics, history, or current events, he approached every topic with curiosity and thoughtfulness. His conversations were rich with insight, and his ability to see the bigger picture inspired those around him.
Despite his many achievements, Kevin’s greatest source of joy was his family. He found immense pride in his children, Matthew and Eve, and adored his role as “Pop Pop” to Josie, Quinn, Jake, Ellie, and Clay.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Susan; his son Matthew, wife Lia and their children, of Singapore; his daughter Eve Newell, husband Jamie and their children, of Dallas. He is also survived by his sisters Diane Moccia (Dave), of Cincinnati and Lynne Teismann (Monica Martinez) of Tiburon, CA, along with many extended family members and dear friends. Kevin was predeceased by his parents and brother Mark.
Kevin’s intellectual curiosity, athletic abilities and steadfast commitment to his family left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
A funeral mass will be held on February 18th 2025, 10:30am, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, 820 Jasmine Way, Clearwater. A luncheon will follow at the Belleair Country Club, 1 Country Club Ln, Belleair. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Kevin’s name to the St Vincent de Paul Society at ssvpusa.org/donate/.
