DaMore, Lewis David 74, of Tarpon Springs, formerly of Rochester and Wappingers Falls, New York, passed away February 26, 2017. Dave was a beloved 5th grade teacher at Frank G. Lindsey and Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary Schools in Read Obituary
Mr. DaMore was such a great teacher. I had him in 1975 when I was 10 years old at B.V. He treated me with respect, integrity and not like a baby. I have such fond memories of him. He loved to laugh and crack jokes. This man is still gifting me with his impression 45 years later! I’m so very sorry I didn’t tell him while he was here. Mr. DaMore was my beloved 5th grade teacher at Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary school. He is the reason that I became a 5th grade teacher myself. I adored this man, the way he treated his students, his passion for teaching, and his sense of humor which was undeniable. I will always remember the auctions he would hold in the classroom. We would earn "money" for doing good work, and he would buy donuts and other prizes to auction off in class. He nicknamed me "squeak" because I didn't like to spend my "money"- I cried the last day of 5th grade because I was going to miss him so much. I still remember us hugging outside of the school that final day and it brings tears to my eyes.I am 44 years old now, and still think about him all the time.I even share stories about him with my own students. He is and will forever remain my favorite teacher and person of all time. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. I love you, Mr. DaMore.

I will always remember Uncle David as one of the brightest lights I have ever known....he was intelligent, articulate, and always smiling and bringing joy and laughter to those who had the good fortune to be around him.
We are so very sorry for your loss. Dave was such a happy and friendly guy; always greeting us as we passed by on our walks with the dogs with a warm "Hiya" ; huge smile, and enthusiastic wave. What a great man and neighbor. Our deepest sympathy.

Mr. DaMore was my fifth grade teacher at Frank G. Lindsey school in Montrose, NY. I believe it was his first year teaching. Without a doubt, he was beloved by his students and many us stayed in touch with him through the years. He was a wonderful educator. There are many, many memories during that special year. But mostly, I remember the lifetime friendships made in 1965.
