Laura Weiland Gale [nee Graef]Laura passed away January 8 at HPH Hospice Center in New Port Richie, Florida at the age of 94.Beloved by her late husband, Allen Gale, and loving cousins: Peggy and Mike Reed, New Port Richie, FL, Terry and Brenda Chase, Tampa, FL, Ronald and Susan Chase, Duluth, MI, Fred and Alice Chase, Haddonfield, NJ, Douglas and Pam Chase, Haddonfield, NJ and the Gale family of Egg Harbor, New Jersey.Born 1917 in Philadelphia, PA, to Ferdinand and Laura Graef. Laura graduated from Pierce Business School in Philadelphia and married Walter Stagg. They started a plastic extrusion company in Philadelphia. Laura and Walter were flying enthusiasts and had their own plane in the 1950's. After Walter's sudden death, Laura moved to Ocean City, New Jersey. There she worked for Spencer Gifts and ran a summer boarding house. Laura was generous and caring to her family and friends. Laura remarried in 1964 to Alan Gale, a friend of Walter and hers from their flying days in Ocean City. After Alan's death, Laura moved to Dunedin, Florida.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 24, at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 1320 Main Street, Dunedin, Florida, 34698.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Pinellas, 3040 St. Road #590, Clearwater, Florida, 33759.
