Kimberly Allen
I met Larry Fisher in 1976 when I first met and dated his eldest son, Mike, who I would later marry.
Larry was the epitome of a gentleman, and passed that on to Mike. He always opened the car door for his wife, let her know how he treasured her with every interaction and had a huge golden heart that, among many other things, led him to organize and lead camping trips for Mike and his brothers and their friends, and on to the volunteer work he embraced in retirement.
He shared a love for animals with JoAnn that led to many pets, some planned and some not-some wild and some not. All loved and cherished. Great stories. More of that golden heart.
As a product of a different kind of home, I was taken by his devotion to family and remembered Larry and JoAnn as an example of the kind of marriage I hoped to have some day. As luck would have it, Mike and I did eventually marry and that wish became reality.
Thank you, dad (and mom!) for living your values of kindness, patience and giving. This early visitor to your family and now daughter in law always remembered your example. Godspeed. Love, Kim
