Lelia Ruth Baty Love Solava's Obituary
Solava, Lelia Ruth Baty Love, 93 of Clearwater, passed peacefully into Heaven on June 1, surrounded by people she loved. She was born on Oct. 21, 1921 in Selma, Al. to Dixie and Josephine Baty. She came to Clearwater in 1925 where she met and married Dan Love in 1941. Dan died in 1999 and she married Jim Solava in 2006. Jim died in 2014. Ruth was a hair dresser, a fifty year member of Keene Terrace Baptist Church, a member of the Classy Ladies Red Hat Society and the Largo Historical Society. She also enjoyed attending church at Everybody’s Tabernacle in Clearwater. Ruth is predeceased by her sisters Vera Snead, Thelma Ringer, Doris Gold, Oweda Sinclair, Barbara Williams and Ethel Ginn. She is survived by her brother James (Anne) Baty, son Joseph “Pete” Love, daughter Gail (Fred) Marchman, grandsons Danny (fiancé Jennifer) Love, Billy Love, Dr. Brian (Stephanie) Marchman, and Brent Marchman, and great grandchildren Josh, Skylar, Marina, and Landon. Ruth will be remembered for being a great hostess, for her generous nature, her strong Christian faith, for growing beautiful Christmas cactuses, and most of all for all the care she gave to those she loved. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Everybody’s Tabernacle, on Monday June 8 from 10 to 11:00 am with services to follow at 11 am, burial will follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
