Leona Faye John Evans' Obituary
Leona Faye John Evans, 91, of Austin, Texas, formerly Palm Harbor, Florida, passed Monday, November 19, 2018 at St. Mark Village in Palm Harbor, Fl.
Leona was born in Lawton Oklahoma, where she attended Lawton High School. She was a Civil Service Procurement Contractor at Fort Sill for 20 years.
Leona was active in the community serving as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital in Lawton, the Business Women’s Association, and as an advocate for children for the county court.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Rosa John; husbands, Harold Evans and Russell Fisher; brothers, Marvin and Francis John and sister, Jewel Bundy.
Leona is survived by her daughters, Marilyn and her husband Mike Rodriguez and Jeannine and her husband Eddie Merritt; grandchildren, Reyna Enoch, Lara Gazi, Amy Dykes, Heather Blount and Nathan Merritt; great-grandchildren, Tyson Blount, Corbin and Mikey Enoch, Liam, Ava and Olivia Gazi, and Rafael Logue, Lathan and Lanie Merritt.
Funeral Services are with Becker-Rabon Funeral Home in Lawton, Oklahoma. A Visitation will be held on
Thursday, November 29th at 11:00 -12:30 at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home, 1502 NW Fort Sill Blvd, Lawton, Oklahoma. A Graveside Service will follow at Fort Sill National Cemetery at 1:00 pm in Elgin, Oklahoma.
