Leslie P. Hix's Obituary
Leslie P Hix, 81, of Safety Harbor, FL, formerly of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018. He lived a full life, exhibiting compassion, courage and responsibility. He loved God and family, meeting the needs of those around him, whether spending time helping at the food pantry or giving away tools and computers to help out his kids and grandkids.
A self-taught engineer, he eventually built his own business where he taught himself most of the computer skills needed to streamline the business. He faced many challenges in life and met them all with determination and a willingness to learn.
After retirement, Les re-engaged his love for woodworking, building dozens of pieces of furniture, giving most of them away to friends and family. He and Linda also adopted three dogs, Akitas, whom he loved on like children.
Les loved holidays, enjoying a meal in the company of friends and family, and often contributing to the cooking with some delicious smoked or grilled meats.
He was firm but generous, demanding the best from himself as well as those around him. Les was a patriarch and an inspiration, challenging and loving all he met. He embraced life until his very last day.
Les is preceded in death by his first wife, Teresa, and his brothers, Lamar and Ron, and his sister, Pat. He is survived by his second wife, Linda, four daughters, Cindy, Sherry, Alisha and Shannon, a sister, Phyllis, and seven grandchildren, Christopher, Cera, Daniel, Elizabeth, Nathan, Kiona and Chance. Services will be held at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Dunedin, FL on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 11:00 am.
