To Linda’s sons and their families, I grieve along with you for your loss. Linda was my BFF, the sister I always wanted. We shared so many things and I’m grateful for her love and support. She always made the effort to improve and tried to do the right thing by everyone. We would get into deep conversations and she would be surprised on how similarly we thought about things and would say, “Stop, you’re scaring me.” She always wanted to do more, but although I’m 7 years younger I couldn’t keep up with her. We are so blessed to have had the time we spent with her, letting us know how much she loved us, and she always appreciated everyone. Her famous quote to me was, “Don’t give up on me!” as if that would even be possible. My beautiful, amazing Linda, my twin self, I will forever love you and miss you.
While I never got to meet you, you have raised a fine group of young men to carry on your legacy. May your memory be eternal and rest easy.
I’ll never forget the stickball games in the backyard and the football games on the side yard (which were brutal, old school tackle no pads, amazing none of us were seriously injured, haha). I’m happy that I was able to reminisce those memories with your mother when we saw each other at the Y. To Linda’s sons ( my childhood friends) , may you find love and joy in your memories.
