To Tom and Family, Linda was such a special lady, who taught me many things about the. love of Christ, either on a retreat or helping fix food in the kitchen. She was a very spirit filed lady what ever she was doing. Linda and Tom was THE WELL. May she rest in peace now..

I met Linda and Tom in 2011 when working on a retreat that our church sponsors. At that time she was in charge of The Well, a diocesan retreat center. Both Linda and Tom prepared the most wonderful food for the retreatants and staff. The center was so clean and well run. Since I worked the logistics end of the retreat there were times when I could take a break to talk with her. She had lovely flowers growing in the front of the center as well as along the road. I asked her especially what the orange yellow flowers were, and she indicated they were Ms Martha's Lantanas, which attract butterflies. In fact she had taken a picture of a butterfly and she allowed me to make a copy, which I now have in my prayer book. When I returned home, I found the lantanas in my local nursery, and planted these around my mailbox. My daughter had recently died, and butterflies were very significant. She was so kind in my grief. The lantanas are still blooming and I remember her whenever I see them.

What a beautiful mass and celebration of Linda's life today. It was obvious she touched many lives while here on earth. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family - she is now your angel in heaven and will watch over each of you.

I met my dear sister in Christ -Linda Ashe- on December 12th, 2015 on the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Newton, MA at my home parish. Linda was visiting the area and stopped in for the Holy Day mass. The Christmas decorations had just been hung in the church, and I stopped after mass to take some pictures of the beautiful interior. Upon reviewing my pictures, I laughed because I realized I had taken a picture of a woman who was also taking a picture! It was Linda, standing before the altar and taking a picture with her camera of the church just as I was. She noticed me also taking pictures, so we began talking and then it came to be that we were prayer partners. She and I had both been praying for someone to be prayer partners with; and God had crossed our paths at that moment for that reason! Linda and I had such a special and significant friendship over the course of the last 8 months. Though I only knew her for less than a year, she touched my life tremendously and helped to really deepen my relationship with Christ. I experienced Christ through Linda; who has always been the face of God for others and an extension of His love and mercy. She taught me so much about life, sickness, faith, hope and the mystery of Christ. I will carry the memories and prayers from our friendship with me for eternity. She is still my sister in Christ, though now she rests eternally with the Lord; and she is interceding for all of us. Linda is an incredible woman who touched the lives of many. I cannot imagine the joy and peace she experienced upon meeting our Lord face to face. Her life was a true reflection of God's love and our calling as Christians; to serve and love others and to be like Christ. I live in the comfort of knowing she is always with us, and that we will all be reunited one day again, in accordance with God's timing. As Linda always told me, "Do not be afraid of anything, because fear is not of the Lord". May whoever reads this feel comforted and consoled during the difficult time of losing our special friend, Linda. Rest peacefully in eternal love, Linda. Pray for us!
