Lloyd(Cotton)Smith's Obituary
SMITH, Lloyd B (Cotton) 93 of Largo passed away peacefully on September 30, 2016. He was born in Dunlow, West Virginia on February, 24, 1923. He graduated Ceredo High School of West Virginia in 1942 and entered the Army During WWII. Lloyd fought bravely during one of the most costly battles of WWII, landing on Omaha beach during the Normandy invasion as part of the F359th Company of engineers. Following the war he worked as a brakeman for Norfolk and Western Railroad. Then he moved to Florida in 1961 with the love of his life, Lois and worked for the Pinellas County School district. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and the American Legion post 275 of Dunedin. Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing and his yearly trip to West Virginia.
He is predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Lois ; mother and father, Lewis and Elizabeth Smith; brothers, Raymond, Lawrence, Lewis; sisters, Carrie, Martha, Alma and Patty. Survivors include daughters, Lynn(Edward), and Lisa(Dennis); grandchildren, Amanda(Josh) and Cliff; great grandchildren, Jackson, Brayden, Jace; many nieces and nephews, and his close friend Joe Acotto.
