Lois D. Baker's Obituary
Lois D. Baker, age 81, a long-time resident of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. She was born September 28, 1941 to the late Lester and Alma Draheim in Manawa, Wisconsin.
Lois grew up on a farm in New London, Wisconsin until relocating with her parents to Clearwater, Florida after the death of her brother, Vilas, in 1954. Lois attended and graduated from Largo High School in 1958.
She married the love of her life, Webster Earl Baker, on December 22, 1962 in Clearwater, Florida. Through their 60 wonderful years of marriage she was a doting wife to Earl and mother to two daughters, Carla & Sharon and a son, Steven. She was a stay at home mom expertly taking care of everyone and everything, including the special medical needs of her daughter, Carla, who was born with Cystic Fibrosis and who passed away in 1985. Once her children were raised, she went back to school to St. Petersburg College and obtained her AA degree in Accounting, she worked in the accounting field until she was ready to retire.
A woman of faith, she lived her life in the Truth. She had a love of the Gospel, and a commitment to walking in Christ and living her life as an example to others. She enjoyed listening to hymns, playing the piano, accordion & organ, reading, traveling, visiting with friends and family, playing board games and spending time with her granddaughters. She had great strength, determination and resilience, she will be missed greatly.
Lois is survived by her husband, Webster Earl Baker (Clearwater), daughter, Sharon Freeman (St. Petersburg), son, Steven Baker (Dunedin), son-in-law, Ben Freeman (St. Petersburg), granddaughters, Fiona Freeman (St. Petersburg) & Taylor Baker (Palm Harbor).
She is preceded in death by her parents Lester & Alma Draheim, brother, Vilas Draheim & daughter, Carla Baker.
Visitation will be held at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Rd., Clearwater, FL 33764, Sunday, September 3, 2023 1PM – 2PM, Funeral Services held after Visitation hours, Sunday, September 3, 2023 2PM, Burial will be directly after funeral service at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Rd., Largo, FL 33773, on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at 3PM.
