Our prayers and our thoughts are with Lorraine's family as well as those who knew her. I first met Lorraine in Florida at her mother's birthday celebrations before Cindy and Marty had moved to Georgia. Gail of coarse had known her back when the younger kids were involved in soccer many years ago in Burlington. This past April Gail and I traveled to Florida to visit with all. On two occasions we went out for dinner. The first at a sports bar. I got to know Lorraine a little better as we sat at the end of the table having a good natter. We talked about whatever and I was left with the impression, here was a young lady who enjoyed the company of others. If I recall we both were the ones who left with a large doggy bag because we talked too much.
Knowing the treatments she was going through at the time I would have expected and accepted any and all complaints she might have voiced. The only complaint I remember, however, was at a restaurant we all went to (extended family as well) on the ocean. We were on the patio and it was very windy. A little bit chilly (down right cold) Lorraine voiced her discomfort to the staff and they magically produced blinds to restrain the bluster. That and a jacket and all was well. There are three things I remember about that night, the food, a whole lot more chattering and the sunset over the ocean. Wonderful memories!
We are saddened by her passing, she will always be remembered fondly in our hearts.
