Lorraine A. Sanford's Obituary
Lorraine A. Sanford, 81, of Dunedin, Florida, passed Friday, September 22, 2017 at her residence under Hospice care. She passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, with her sister, Pat at her side holding her hand. She was born in Brooklyn, New York. Lorraine was employed with the Internal Revenue Service for many years as a Tax Examiner. She was a quick learner and was known for being a team player and leader. She moved to Florida in 2001. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin. Lorraine's faith was strong. She exchanged her life with all of us, for an eternal life with her God, Lord and Savior. Lorraine will be remembered for her trademark sense of quick wit and her comic sayings. She always brought laughter, smiles, honesty, generosity and unconditional love for her family and friends. She leaves with love in many hearts both known and unknown that is never ending. Her generosity extended to many causes, humans and animals which was a priority for her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Teddy and Eleanor Lawler; daughter, Laura Jean Hewitt; granddaughter, Mandie Hewitt; sisters, Marilyn McDonald, Joan Lawler and brother-in-law, Charles M. Kastel.
She is survived by her sons, Edward and Michael Hewitt; granddaughter, Chrsitina Trikas; great-grandson, Christian Trikas; sisters, Patricia Kastel and Virginia Perdue; brother, Danny Eckardt; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Memorial donations in Lorraine's memory may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
