Mabel Pearl Anderson's Obituary
Mabel Pearl Anderson 95, of Palm Harbor passed away July 18, 2017. She was born on February 13, 1922 to George and Rose Staehr in Brooklyn, New York.
Mabel met her loving husband of nearly 71 years, Eugene, while he was enlisted in the US Navy during WWII. The couple remained in New York to raise their children, Brenda and Brian, before retiring to Clearwater, Florida. Together they enjoyed golfing and bowling but most of all, they loved the ocean and would spend hours and hours beachcombing. Mabel would gather all the shells she found during their beachcombing trips and used them to create shell crafts that she would sell at the Clearwater Senior Center once a week where she was known for her creative designs and friendly smile.
Mabel and Gene enjoyed singing in the Palm Harbor Community Chorus, under the direction of their son, Brian, for many years and were founding members of the Countryside Covenant Church and active in its congregation until its dissolution. Mabel and Gene moved to St Mark Village in 2004. Mabel loved to swim and could often be found at the pool swimming laps.
She is preceded was preceded in death by her husband Gene in January of 2015 and by her son, Brian Anderson, in January 2007. Mabel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Richard Holleron of Clearwater, Florida.
