Marcia Ann Roth's Obituary
Marcia Ann Roth passed away Saturday September 2, 2017 after a valiant battle with vascular dementia. Marcia was born October 31, 1939 In Syracuse, NY. She spent her childhood in Camillus, NY, graduating from West Genesee High School in 1957. Over the next twenty years she traveled the US and Germany as an active Army wife, embracing the opportunity to see the world while raising her three children. She was a member of the Officers Army Wives Club, serving in leadership positions and volunteering in the community. Marcia than settled in northern Virginia where she built a career in public relations and event planning. Eventually her love of the ocean drew her and husband Lucious to Clearwater, Florida. Here she pursed her passion for interior design, launching her business “Everything Under the Sun” with its iconic sun-face logo. Into this venture she threw her boundless creativity and talent as a seamstress – skills she enthusiastically shared with her clients. Her family and friends also benefited from her endless organizational and creative energies. Her other passions were gardening, reflected in the enchanted garden that she created in her backyard, and spending time shelling at the beach with her children and grandchildren.
Marcia was predeceased by her husband Lucious W. Bonds, and her parents Joseph Koch and Eleanor Koch Mosch.
Marcia is survived by her children Howard Roth (Wendy Jo), Chris Roth (Angel), and Helen Roth-Bassell (Gary) and step children Teresa Valentine, Michelle O'Neil and Nicole Flemmings. Grandchildren Mary Roth, William Roth, Robert Roth, Brandon Bassell, Julia Bassell, Elekuah Mcglotten-Bonds, Adya Mcglotten, Angelo Joseph, Terrance Bonds,Lucious Bonds, Kevonna Gandy and Precious McClendon
Her siblings Dianna Nichols (Gary), Elaine Duigan (Terry) of Henderson, NV, Joenelle Christian (Toni), Bonita Corso (John) and Joseph Koch (Brenda).
A celebration of Marcia"s life is being planned for Columbus Day weekend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support dementia research through the BrightFocus Foundation (www.brightfocus.org).
