Margaret Ann Gill's Obituary
Margaret Ann (Peggy) Gill was born in Dorchester, MA on April 8, 1954. She died peacefully in her home in Gulfport, Fl on January 20,2024 at the age of 69, with her wife Sandra Hall and one of her daughters, Jenny at her side. She is preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Margaret Gill of Weymouth, MA and survived by her wife of 40 years Sandy, her siblings Patrick Gill of Bluffton SC, Kathy Gill-Body of Dover MA, Shawn Gill of Plymouth Ma and Kevin Gill of Hingham, MA, her four stepchildren, 12 nieces and nephews and 16 grandnieces and grandnephews, her beloved dog, Bailey and a large community of friends and neighbors.
Peggy graduated from Weymouth South High School, attended, and graduated Emmanuel College in Boston, MA with a Bachelor of Science Degree, in Healthcare Administration, Peggy was also an RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) and a CCS (Certified Coding Specialist). She was employed by Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, MA for 45 years.
Peggy will be remembered as a wise, quiet and practical person with a dry sense of humor. She was a firm believer in social justice and worked and demonstrated for many causes, including those affecting the LBGT+ community.
A Celebration of Life will be held in both Gulfport, FL and Lynn, MA at a date to be announced. Peggy has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Sonia Plotnick Women’s Health Fund (SPHF) an organization dear to her that helps local women with their healthcare expenses.
