Margaret Saunders' Obituary
Margaret (Peggy) Ann Avery Saunders of Kingston, PA passed away peacefully on February 29, 2016 in Palm Harbor, FL.
Margaret was born on March 10, 1929 in Kingston, PA. She graduated from Kingston High School in 1946 and attended the Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business. She was later employed by Chapin Lumber of Kingston, PA. She and her late husband of 49 years, Jack D. Saunders, moved to Georgia in 1986 from Pennsylvania. Margaret was a caring and generous person. She was a regular volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Upper Saint Clair, PA; Mechanicsburg, PA; and Gwinnett County, GA. Margaret had a love of hummingbirds and sports – an avid teammate on her bowling team; regular card player; and spectator of baseball, tennis, golf, and her favorite the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is predeceased by her parents, Zetta & James Henry Avery of Kingston, PA; husband, Jack D. Saunders; brother, James Avery; and sister, Rita Tanner.
She is survived by daughter, Sharon (Edward) Spencer; son, Robert (Debby Robic) Saunders; grandchildren [Sharon]: Daniel Ruhr & Lindsay (Bruce) Beaumont; grandchildren [Robert]: Jennifer (Jim) Birdsall & Jaclyn Saunders (mother, Debra V. Saunders), and Megan Saunders (mother, Debby Robic); four great grandchildren; and Margaret’s sister, Miriam Fawcett.
Margaret (Peggy) was known as a giving, loving, and compassionate mom, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend to so many. She radiated warmth and love wherever she went.
