Margherita Marian Scaglione's Obituary
Margherita Marian Scaglione, the daughter of Eleanor and Dominick DiFranco was born December 25, 1922 with her twin brother, Frank in New York City. Margherita passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2015 at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, FL.
It’s not a coincidence that God brought Margherita into the world on Christ’s birthday, as she was a precious gift to all that knew her. If you had the honor of meeting Margherita you’d agree she had the most beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She loved spending quality time with family and friends, cooking, baking and crafts. Margherita fought a long battle with Alzheimer’s and it’s not by happenstance the Lord granted her angel wings on Mother’s Day. Margherita was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt that always put others needs first.
Margherita married the love of her life, Paul Scaglione on February 10, 1946. Their union created a beautiful family to include, Vito Scaglione, born May 16, 1947 and Aggie Scaglione Nuhfer, born March 6, 1952. The Lord took Paul Scaglione to heaven on February 3, 1987.
Margherita is survived by her son, Vito (Michele) Scaglione; daughter, Aggie (Don) Nuhfer; 4 grandchildren, Paul (Gina) Scaglione, Emanuel (Michelle) Scaglione, David Pollet and Michele Pollet; 4 great-grandchildren, Vito, Julietta, Anthony and Isabella.
The funeral services will be held at Krauss Funeral Home in Franklin Square, L.I. New York on May 14, 2015. Margherita will be buried with her husband Paul Scaglione at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale New York on May 15, 2015.
